Great Job! & December Events
Good morning, Ken Wa Kan,
I hope you had a good sleep last night. You all did a great job yesterday. The test results will be announced whenever I receive it from the Federation.
Here are our December Events:

Ken Wa Kan November 2007 Events
The following are Ken Wa Kan events in November, 2007.
1. November 3rd, Saturday: 1st Annapolis-Baltimore Taikai (tournament).
KWK is sending two teams. Welcome to stop by and cheer with our participants.
2. November 15th, Thursday: Senseis visiting.
Yang sensei and/or Fujieda sensei will visit KWK, and give our memebrs a guideline for the shinsa (promotion test). If you are going to the test on December 2nd in NY, you definitely have to attend this class.
3. November 24th. Saturday: EUSKF Shinsa application due.
Please make sure you have submitted your application form and dues to Jason before/by the 20th, Tuesday.

Ken Wa Kan August 2007 Events

There are some up-coming events at Ken Wa Kan in August. Please do your best to join with us.
1. August 9th, Thursday: Yang Sensei from Princeton Kendo & Iaido Club will give us a 30 mins Iaido demo/introduction. After that, we will have a joint Kendo practice.
2. August 11th, Satursday: Yang sensei invites all of our Ken Wa Kan members to join Princeton Kendo & Iaido Club annual BBQ at his house. *Note on 8/2/2007: the event is canceled and to be resheduled due to Yang Sensei's conflict with his business trip.*
3. August 16th, Thursday: Before John's leaving in August, we are going to have an in house testing for him. As we can see, John is such a hard working kenshi who lives in South of New Jersey and comes to study kendo with us two nights per week. Please come to observe, learn the testing process, and send John our best wishes.

Dear Ken Wa Kan Kenshis,
Good afternoon. I wish you all enjoy the weather very much.
Since May 1st, next Tuesday, our classes/training will have a little bit change. I hope this change will benefit to our members at both preparing the promotion test and also the kendo concept/spirit.
Tuesday class:
8:05 PM ~ 8:30 PM: Kata (please bring your boken)
8:30 PM ~ 8:40 PM: Warm up (wear your Tare and Do )
8:40 PM ~ 9:10 PM: Basic/Advance skills/footwork training
9:10 PM ~ 9:30 PM: Basic/Advance Keiko
Thursday class:
8:05 PM ~ 8:20 PM: Warm up (wear your Tare and Do)
8:20 PM ~ 8:45 PM: Basic/Advance skills/footwork training
8:50 PM ~ 9:30 PM: Basic/Advance Keiko
We may have some tiny adjustments in between each period, but this is a general big picture that we are going to follow with.

some useful info from Princeton Kendo & Iaido Club
Dear Ken Wa Kan kenshis,
Just sharing with you some useful and knowledgeable information from Princeton Kendo & Iaido club. We may need a train about how to fold our hakama and gi properly later soon. Also, if you are interested in participating the event on 4/22, please let Jason and/or me know.

Mar. 1st, 2007. Peter Strauss's last practice with us.
On March 1st, before leaving for Japan, Peter had his last practice with us. We are grateful to have him in our dojo in the past few months, and wish him the very best for his future career.

Due to the bad weather and highly potential driving hazardous, I am sorry that we have to cancel tonight's Kendo class.
Either Jason or I will give you a call to confirm this message.
For some of you haven't given Jason your AUSKF/EUSKF Federations registration fees and form of 2007, please bring them to Jason on Thursday, 2/15, when is the last time we collect your application. Thank you.
Also, if you are willing to visit Fujieda Sensei's dojo (in NJ) and have a joint practice with our federation's other dojo(s), please notice Jason about your coming.

Ken Wa Kan Kendo Dojo February 2007 Events
Except our every Tuesday & Thursday evening classes, there are two more events in New Jersey our Ken Wa Kan kenshis are encouraged to attend:
1. 2/18, Sunday: Visiting Fujieda sensei's dojo, Fort Lee Kyudokan Dojo at 534 Bergen Blvd. (Rt.63) , Palisades Park , NJ 07650 . Time: 10:30-1:00pm. Car pool will be arranged.
2. 2/25, Sunday: Visiting the 14th Shidogakuim Youth and Collegiate Tournament & Shinsa in the Loree Building at Douglass Campus of Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey held by GNEUSKF (Greater Northeastern US Kendo Federation.) Car pool will be arranged too.

January 21, 2007: East Coast Iaido Seminar & Shinsa
According to the message from Sensei Yang, Princeton Kendo & Idiao Club, there will be a Iaido Seminar & Shinsa in New Jersey on 1/21/2007. Our dojo's students are eligible to apply for the test, if any of you study Iaido.
Please let me know if you are interested in the test. I have more details and application form for you.
